When I think something is too hard to tackle, I remind myself I have it easy compared to the generations before me. I have a life full of opportunity with few limitations.
Today is National Holocaust Day, my Jewish Czech great grandparents Emil and Helene Kornitzer and many other family members perished at the hands of the Nazis. My grandmother Alice never let that trauma and sorrow hold her back. My consultancy Aliciyo is named after her as a reminder that resilience, embracing change and collaboration, virtues that my grandmother embodied, enable us to create value for others. This reminder allows me to refocus and move forward.
